Review: High Brow Gel – Revolution | Better than Benefit’s?

Brows are the very first thing for me. No, for real: it’s the first step of my makeup routine! However, during the weekdays, I have no time for fully done, on fleek brows. I need to be as quick as possible. And here’s where brow gels make an appearance… and where this product comes in. Today, I’m going to be talking about Makeup Revolution‘s new High Brow Gel! Brow gels are especially helpful when it comes to brushing the brows and making them appear fuller. In fact, if I’m in a rush I might just use a brow gel instead of doing my brows from start to finish. If the product is good, you probably won’t need more than that!

When browsing the brand’s Good Vibes collection, this brow gel completely caught my attention. In the website, they pointed out that not only would eyebrows appear fuller, but that they would also be nourished and protected thanks to the infused cannabis Sativa seed oil. It is also cruelty-free (the brand itself is), and vegan! It comes in three shades, from which I picked Dark Brown.

Results

The attributes you look the most for in these products are the way they make your brows look, if they keep them in place, and for how long.

The shade is perfect for dark hair. It applies very evenly and brushes the hairs so they don’t look messy. The tip is tiny and precise. It adds some volume and, if you have bushy brows like myself, you won’t need to use products underneath. I’m a firm believer that a picture’s worth a thousand words, so here are the results so you get an idea:

No product VS High Brow Gel only

The results are definitely there and everyone I’ve shown those pictures to have asked me which product I was using. Now you know! But what if you want fully done brows? Well, it works perfectly too:

I was shooked by how good this product looks, but also by how good it lasts. Some brow gels seem great for a couple of hours and then it’s like they were never there in the first place. Fortunately, this product looks and lasts very well too. I wouldn’t say it lasts 24 entire hours, but it does last enough to be used for an everyday basis and it doesn’t transfer throughout the day.

The only con I’ve found is that there are only three shades so far and that’s not enough for most people. There is no blonde and there is no black, and there are a few in-between like reds that the range is also missing.

Conclusion: Is it better than Benefit’s?

This post might’ve called your attention because I brought up Benefit, and more specifically, Benefit‘s Gimme Brow. It is probably considered one of the top cult favourite products in brows, the equivalent of Anastasia Beverly HillsDip Brow Pomade for this type of product (review here).

I do love this product and I’m definitely going to buy more once it’s empty or spoiled. So far, three months after, it’s still creamy and working perfectly and I use it almost every day. So, do I think it’s better than Benefit’s?

Yes. Not only is the quality just as good, but it is also cruelty-free, vegan and more affordable than the aforementioned. It’s a really great buy and better option when you’re also looking for a cheaper eyebrow gel.

That’s it for today everybody! I hope you enjoyed the post. If you have any questions, you can ask them in the questions or through my socials. I’ll be more than happy to answer!
