Hey guys! Today I’m going to give you my honest review on MUR‘s overly hyped latest release: the Conceal & Define Liquid Concealer. This product seems to be the perfect dupe for Tarte Cosmetics‘ Shape Tape concealer, but it’s not that big of a deal compared to it, and I will tell you why here. Keep reading to know more!
Antes que nada, voy a comparar brevemente este producto con el de Tarte. Quedé muy decepcionada con sus últimos lanzamientos de bases. No solo discriminaron a la gente de color y se disculparon de manera que quedó claro que para ellos son algo secundario, sino que también nos tomaron por tontos al renombrar una de las bases y decir que es completamente nueva. En caso de que no lo sepáis, la Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation tiene la misma fórmula que su Hybrid Gel Foundation y la misma gama de tonos. Amo los productos de esta marca y me gustaban mucho, pero no creo que vaya a comprar nada de ellos por un tiempo. No hay excusa para lo que acaban de hacer. Seguimos con el review…
First of all, I’m going to briefly compare this product to Tarte‘s. I was very disappointed by their latest release of foundations. They not only discriminated people of color with the shade range and apologized in a way that made it clear that they are a “second thought” for them, but also took us for fools by renaming a foundation and saying it’s brand new. In case you don’t know, the Shape Tape Hydrating Foundation has the exact same formula as their Hybrid Gel Foundation AND the same shade range. I love this brand’s products and I used to like them a lot, but I don’t think I’m going to buy anything from them for a while. No excuse makes for what they’ve just done. On to the review…
Conceal & Define Liquid Concealer

¿Precio por cantidad? No vale TANTO la pena
Aunque el precio es mucho más asequible que el Shape Tape de Tarte Cosmetics, especialmente para las y los amantes de la belleza que viven lejos (como yo) y que tienen que pagar el envío y los impuestos necesarios para obtenerlo, no es tan bueno en ese aspecto. Si recuerdo bien, solo pidiendo el corrector y mandarlo a España cuesta 40 euros como mínimo, lo cual es una locura.
Pero, teniendo en cuenta que el corrector MUR solo tiene 3,4ml de producto y el corrector de Tarte contiene 10 ml, lo cual significa que 10 ml del corrector C&D cuesta unos 18€. Una ganga para las personas que tienen que pagar el envío internacional, pero que no vale la pena tanto como parece para las personas que viven en los Estados Unidos: el corrector C&D se vende por 7 dólares en Ulta. Para obtener la misma cantidad de producto que el ST, debe pagar 21$, que está a tan solo 6$ de un corrector ST.
Quería señalar esto antes de continuar porque siento que la gente elogia este producto por las razones equivocadas. Lo que me gusta, además del producto en sí, es que viene en 18 tonos, cuatro más que ST (con solo 14), y añadirán 7 más. ¡Un total de 25 tonos!
Price for quantity? Not THAT worth it
Even though the price is much more affordable than Tarte Cosmetics‘ Shape Tape concealer, especially for international beauty lovers that have to pay extra shipping and fees to get it, it’s not that good in that aspect. If I remember correctly, ordering the concealer alone to Spain is 40 euros at least, which is insane.
But, considering that the MUR concealer only has 3.4ml of product and the Tarte concealer contains 10ml, 10ml of the C&D concealer is about 18€. A steal for people who have to pay international shipping, but not as worth it as it seems for people who live in the States: the C&D concealer retails for 7$ at Ulta. To get the same amount of product as the ST, you have to pay 21$, which is only 6$ away from a ST concealer.
I wanted to point this out before continuing because I feel like people are praising this product for the wrong reasons. What I love about it besides the product itself is that it comes in 18 shades, four more than ST (with only 14), and they’re going to add 7 more. A total of 25 shades!
Resultados | Results
- Tiene un precioso acabado semi-mate. Es muy cremoso y fácil de mezclar con la piel. También se puede utilizar para agregar definición al rostro, lo cual significa que se puede usar para contornear.
- It dries to a beautiful semi-matte finish. It’s very creamy and easy to blend. It can also be used to add definition to your face also, which means it can be used for contouring.
- Un poco de producto da para mucho, lo cual me encanta. En la imagen de abajo, solo utilicé dos puntos y fue más que suficiente para cubrir la zona de las ojeras. Tiene una cobertura completa y es muy ligero.
- It goes a long way with little product, which I adore. In the image below, I only put two dots on my undereye area and it was more than enough to cover it up. It has full coverage and doesn’t feel heavy at all.
- Va genial como base de maquillaje si quieres algo ligero. Aquí está la prueba:
- Works great as foundation if you want to go light. Here’s the proof:
- Es muy duradero. Cuando llegué a casa después de algunas horas y mucho baile, no estaba intacto, eso seguro, pero se veía muy bien. Es ideal para uso diario: si no vas a moverte mucho, no se irá en todo el día.
- It’s very long-lasting. When I got home after some hours and a lot of dancing, it definitely wasn’t intact, but it looked pretty damn good. It’s great for daily use: with little sports action, it will stay on the whole day.
Conclusión
Me encanta este corrector. Tiene una cobertura excelente y es muy asequible a pesar de lo que he dicho al principio. ¡La g
ama de tonos es muy amplia, por lo que es muy fácil obtener la combinación perfecta y utilizarla como base! Eso es perfecto para uso diario debido a eso: una pequeña cantidad de producto cubre todo el resto y proporciona un look natural y sutil. Para personas que vivan fuera de los EEUU, es probable que sea mucho más accesible que el corrector Shape Tape.
¡Definitivamente voy a volver a comprar este producto otra vez, y no solo este tono! Quiero probarlo para el contorno y ver qué sucede, así que tenéis asegurada una segunda parte para esta reseña.
Conclusion
I love this concealer. It has an excellent coverage and it’s very affordable despite what I said in the introduction disclaimer. The shade range is very inclusive so you can get your perfect match and use it as foundation! It is perfect for daily use because of that: a tiny amount of product will cover your face and will look subtle and even it. For people from outside the US, it might be much more accessible than the Shape Tape concealer.
I’m definitely going to repurchase this again, and not just this shade! I want to try it as a contour product and see what happens, so expect a part 2 to this review.
