Hi guys! And welcome to my 11th post of Blogmas. To some of you, this title might sound a bit bizarre. It’s a bit personal, actually, and definitely up for interpretation. But for me it has a more specific meaning: nearlycrispi recently proposed a challenge with three prizes to redo one of our older looks and see how we’d do. I liked the idea very much; aside from the fact that she was the hosting the giveaway (and yesterday I found out I won one of the prizes!), I think it’s a good way to see how far we’ve come and to test ourselves. I re-did an eyelook from 2018, one of my favorites to date back then. Keep reading to see the change!
I think the biggest change has been photography. I try to take the photos in natural light and edit them a lot less. In the 2018 photo I softened the image a lot, and even though I still do that with the edges , I edit them much less and it doesn’t affect the makeup at all. I think it’s important that we show the reality behind makeup, because not everything is perfect blending and impeccable lines. This way, we stop normalizing impossible and unattainable makeup looks.

¡Hola chicas! Y bienvenidas al 11º Blogmas de este año. A algunas os sonará un poco raro este título. ¡Y con razón! La verdad es que es bastante personal y de libre interpretación. Pero para mí tiene un significado más específico, y es que hace poco nearlycrispi propuso que rehiciéramos uno de nuestros looks de hace tiempo. La idea me gustó muchísimo; aparte de hacer un sorteo (ayer hizo la resolución aleatoriamente, ¡y he ganado uno de los premios!), creo que es una buena forma de ver cuánto hemos avanzado y de ponernos a prueba. Yo lo hice con un eyelook de 2018 que fue de mis favoritos hasta la fecha. ¡Seguid leyendo para ver el cambio!
Creo que el cambio más grande ha sido la fotografía. Intento sacar las fotos con luz natural y las edito muchísimo menos. En la foto de 2018 suavicé mucho la imagen, algo que todavía hago con los bordes, pero mucho menos y sin afectar en absoluto al maquillaje en sí. Creo que tenemos que acostumbrarnos a enseñar la realidad detrás del maquillaje, y que no todo son difuminados y líneas perfectos. De esta forma, dejamos de normalizar imágenes de maquillajes imposibles e inalcanzables.
