I like Christmas movies. I wouldn’t say they’re my favourite thing in the world, as they tend to get very cringe-worthy sometimes. But I love getting a warm cup of hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies, hiding under my cozy blanket and watching romantic winter movies. Like The Shining…
Just kidding, just kidding! Though I actually really like that movie.
If there’s one Christmas movie I never get tired of, that has to be Love Actually. This might be shocking to pretty much anyone who knows me because if there’s a movie that’s cheesy as can be (I mean, it’s literally called “Love Actually”), this is the one. And I’m not the kind of person to like this type of movies, but I do make an exception with this one.
The first time I watched it -on purpose- I was probably 13. I fell in love with Mark (Andrew Lincoln), decided to hate men forever when Harry (Alan Rickman) did *the thing* to Karen (Emma Thompson), drooled over little Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) and cried a little bit while watching the last scene. I’ve watched it a couple of times ever since and I love that there’s an obvious side to it, but it also shows real problems and the different realities behind love. Sometimes it’s miraculous. Sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes it’s not enough. Sometimes it’s not there anymore. But if you look for it, you’ll find that love actually is all around (see what I did there?).

¡Hola chicos y bienvenidos al segundo día de Blogmas! Ayer os presenté mi propia versión para este año, y hoy hablo del primer tema: películas navideñas.
Me gustan las películas navideñas. No diría que son mi cosa favorita en el mundo, ya que a veces tienden a ser un poco… avergonzantes. Pero me encanta tomar una taza de chocolate caliente con galletas de jengibre, esconderme debajo de mi mantita y ver películas románticas de invierno. Como El Resplandor…
¡Es broma, es broma! Aunque en realidad me gusta mucho esa película, también lo he de decir.
Si hay una película navideña de la que nunca me canso, es Love Actually. Esto puede ser impactante para casi cualquiera que me conozca, porque si hay una película cursi de narices (literalmente se llama “Amor Realmente”), ésta es la indicada. Y a mí no me van mucho esas cosas, pero con esta película hago la excepción.
La primera vez que la vi -a propósito- probablemente tenía 13 años. Me enamoré de Mark (Andrew Lincoln), decidí odiar a todos los hombres por siempre cuando Harry (Alan Rickman) le hizo *aquello* a Karen (Emma Thompson), babeé por el pequeño Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) y lloré un pelín viendo la última escena. La he visto un par de veces desde entonces y me encanta porque aunque es obvia, también muestra problemas reales y las diferentes verdades detrás del amor. A veces es increíble. A veces es difícil. A veces no es suficiente. A veces ya no está ahí. Pero si lo buscas, te darás cuenta de que el amor realmente está por todas partes (¿lo pilláis?).
