Como ya dije en este post, estoy en contra de los plagios y pienso que no se debe tolerar ni con artistas, ni con trabajos de redacción -sea para el ámbito que sea-, ni con nadie. He hecho la excepción con esta página [Hush] hace unos meses, cuando comenzó a ganar fama por sus famosos dupes de Huda Beauty, Lime Crime, Anastasia Beverly Hills… y la gente llegó a decir que eran incluso mejores que las paletas originales. La curiosidad me ha podido, y la verdad, no me parece que esta marca sea como cualquier tontería de 5 euros en el Primor. Aquí tenéis mi review de la famosa “Royals“, posible dupe de la aún más famosa Modern Renaissance.

As I’ve said before in this post, I’m against plagiarism and I think that it should not be tolerated by artists, writers or anyone. I made the exception with this page [Hush] a few months ago, when it began to gain fame for its famous dupes of Huda Beauty, Lime Crime, Anastasia Beverly Hills… and the fact that people were raving about them and some even said that they were even better than the original palettes. Curiosity won. And if I’m honest, I don’t think that these brands are as cheap as some others are when it comes to duping. Here’s my review of the famous Royals palette, the possible dupe of the even more famous Modern Renaissance.

El review va a ser desde mi punto de vista y teniendo en cuenta que NO tengo la Modern Renaissance. He comprado cosas de la marca, pero esa paleta nunca me ha parecido tan interesante, y menos cuando las sombras que más me llaman la atención son dos (y las tengo “dupeadas“).

The review will be from my point of view and considering that I do NOT own the Modern Renaissance palette nor have I tested it. I’ve bought things from the brand, but that palette has never seemed interesting to me, especially when the two shadows that actually called my attention, I’ve already “duped“.

Esta paleta cuesta 10 dólares y contiene 14 sombras de tonalidad cálida y colores parecidos a la paleta de ABH. El diseño es bastante similar, también, pero no tiene los detalles como el exterior aterciopelado. Aún así, no parece tan barato como los de otras marcas que se dedican a hacer dupes, y aún así, el precio no se aleja demasiado. Por lo que he visto en imágenes y vídeos, la paleta es más grande, pero no puedo asegurar que te lleves más producto que con Anastasia porque no tengo los datos de las sombras individuales en la paleta de Bad Habit.

This palette costs 10 dollars and contains 14 shades of warm-toned shadows similar to the ABH palette. The design is quite similar, too, but it does not have the details like the velvety exterior. Still, it does not seem as cheap as those of other brands that dedicate to making dupes, and even so, there is no big price difference. From what I’ve seen in pictures and videos, the palette is bigger, but I can not guarantee that you’ll get more product than with Anastasia because I do not have the individual shadow data in the Bad Habit palette.

Esta paleta tiene sombras shimmer, satinadas y mates.

• La fórmula de las sombras mate es bastante seca, pero me gusta de todas formas. No sé cómo serán los mates de la Modern Renaissance, pero sí sé cómo son los de otras marcas de precios parecidos como Tarte Cosmetics y casi siempre me encuentro con lo mismo. La pigmentación no está nada mal. En cuanto a la aplicación con brochas, no son extremadamente vibrantes, pero sí que se puede trabajar con ellas sin problema.
• Las sombras shimmer son las mejores con diferencia. La pigmentación es increíble y se aplican muy fácilmente, además de ser preciosas. La textura es cremosísima.
• Las sombras satinadas como Treasury y Opulent tienen un poco de brillo y son igual de secas que las mate, si no más. Son los tonos menos destacables, pero también los que están destinados a ser utilizados de transición, así que el hecho de que sean poco pigmentadas y apagadas no es del todo malo.

This palette has shimmer, satin and matte eyeshadows.

• The formula of the matte shadows is quite dry, but I like it anyway. I do not know what the mattes of the Modern Renaissance look like, but what I do know is how other similarly priced brands such as Tarte Cosmetics work, and I almost always find the same “issue”. The pigmentation isn’t bad. As for the application with brushes, they are not extremely vibrant, but you can work with them without a problem.
• Shimmer shadows are the best by far. The pigmentation is incredible and they apply very easily, besides being beautiful. The texture is creamy and applied with a damp brush they work wonders — even better than
• Satin shadows like Treasury and Opulent have a bit of brightness and are just as dry as the matte ones, if not more. They’re the less remarkable tones, but since they’re *destined* to be used as a transition shade, the fact that they aren’t too pigmented or vibrant isn’t that bad.

Como ya he dicho antes, esta paleta pierde puntos (para mí) por ser un plagio. Eso no se lo quita nadie y quiero dejarlo claro. Los colores están distribuidos de forma distinta, pero eso no quita que sean los mismos. Aún así, es una buena opción para quienes no quieren pagar 42$ por la original.

Creo que la paleta está muy lograda: los tonos shimmer son muy bonitos y los uso muy a menudo – aunque realmente, estoy utilizando toda la paleta en sí muchísimo, últimamente.

As I said before, this palette loses points (to me) for being a copy-cat. I want to make that clear because they can’t be excused from taking someone else’s work, and even though I “supported” them by buying this palette (to know if the hype is worth it and for trying them out, really) it should be taken into consideration. The colors are distributed differently, but that does not change that they are the same. It’s still a good option for those of you who do not want to spend $42 on the original, which I understand.

I think that the palette itself is great for the price: I’m obsessed with the shimmer shades, they’re incredibly beautiful and the quality is amazing; it has come to the point they’re turning into my go-to shimmer shadows – but honestly, I’m using the whole palette a lot, lately.
