Reseña de la base de maquillaje BARESKIN® LIQUID FOUNDATION & PURE BRIGHTENING SERUM en piel mixta/grasa | Review of the foundation BARESKIN® LIQUID SERIES AND PURE BRIGHT SERUM in combination/oily skin.
Disclaimer: antes de comenzar, me gustaría señalar que las bases de maquillaje son el tipo de producto que nunca será el mismo para todos. Si tienes piel mixta/grasa como yo, las posibilidades de que obtengas los mismos resultados o parecidos son mayores, pero no puedo asegurarlo.
Disclaimer: before we start, I would like to point out that foundations are the kind of product that will never be the same for everyone. If you have combination/oily skin like me, there’s a greater chance you will get the same results, but I can’t assure that.
He escuchado críticas muy diversas sobre esta base y quería probarla, pero el hecho de que tuviera sérum en ella me hizo evitarla durante mucho tiempo. Tengo la piel mixta tendiendo a grasa (aunque no tanto en esta época del año por el frío). Me he dado cuenta de que el uso de bases mate de cobertura total no ayuda mucho, ya que cubren mis poros durante un tiempo, pero después de un par de horas (o menos) acabo con la piel super grasa. Lo que he buscado esta vez ha sido una base de cobertura media que pudiera arreglar fácilmente con polvos matificantes, y ésta parecía perfecta.
I’ve heard very mixed reviews about this foundation and I really wanted to try it out, but the fact that it had serum in it drew me back for a long time. I have combination skin, but I tend to get oily. I’ve come to realize that using full-coverage matte foundations isn’t helping much as they fix my pores for a while, but after a couple of hours (or less) my skin looks very greasy. This time around, I went for a medium-coverage foundation that I could easily fix with mattifying powders. So I gave this one a chance.
PRODUCT
Según la página oficial, esta formula:
- Tiene “SPF 20 protector que proporciona un espectro no químico de base mineral” y también “es recomendado por The Skin Cancer Foundation como un protector solar eficaz de amplio espectro“.
- Es una “base líquida no pesada con una textura ultrafina y sedosa, cobertura personalizable de ligera a completa“. Su fórmula no comedogénica “no obstruye los poros ni causa brotes“, es hipoalergénica y ha sido dermatológicamente testeada.
- Está formulado “sin silicona, aceite, parabenos o fragancias” y supuestamente “está clínicamente probado que mejora la apariencia de manchas oscuras, el brillo de la piel y su textura“.
- Está formulada con una “base derivada de coco con pigmentos minerales recubiertos de jojoba” y sus “células madre de plantas lila sobrealimentadas y vitamina C ayudan a revelar una piel más brillante y uniforme“.
According to the sites’ description, this foundation:
- Has “protective SPF 20 that provides a non-chemical, mineral-based broad-spectrum” and is also “recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation as effective broad-spectrum sunscreen“.
- It is a “weightless liquid foundation with an ultra-thin, silky texture, customizable, light-to-full coverage“. Its non-comedogenic formula “doesn’t clog pores or cause breakouts“, it’s hypoallergenic and has been dermatologist tested.
- It is formulated “without silicone, oil, parabens or fragrance” and it’s supposedly “clinically proven to improve the appearance of dark spots, skin brightness, and skin texture“.
- It is formulated with a “coconut-derived base with jojoba-coated mineral pigments” and its “supercharged lilac plant stem cells and vitamin C help to reveal brighter, more even-toned skin“.
APLICACIÓN | APPLICATION
La base se aplica con mucha facilidad. Al principio evitaba las brochas porque prefiero la Beautyblender, pero más tarde me ha dado cuenta de que aplicada con una, la covertura es ideal (al menos para mí) y se aplica incluso mejor, en mi opinión, no sobrehidrata.
The base blends very easily. At first, I avoided brushes because I prefer the Beautyblender, but later I realized that the application is even better with a brush, since it doesn’t overhydrate like a damp sponge would.
TEXTURA | TEXTURE
La textura de la base es muy líquida y tiene un acabado natural en la piel. Es ligera, lo cual me gusta, pero si la sellas con polvos translúcidos (como yo hago siempre), se nota que está ahí, pero no es molesto. Al principio temía que lo líquida que es causara que se transfiriera con más facilidad, pero no es así.
The texture is very liquid and it has a natural finish on the skin. It’s pretty much completely lightweight, which I love. At first, I was a little afraid the liquidy texture of this foundation would make it easier for it to transfer and get ruined after a few minutes, but it’s nothing like that.
DURACIÓN | LONGEVITY
La verdad es que la durabilidad de esta base me encanta. En las imagenes de abajo no me he retocado con polvos matificantes, pero si lo haces, te deja la piel perfecta todo el día. Es verdad que tras esas 6 horas de ir de un lado a otro comienzan los brillos, pero solo en la zona más problemática (frente y nariz). Personalmente, tampoco veo que los brillos que deje sean demasiado graves, son más healthy glow que otra cosa (no como la base de Fenty Beauty).
The foundation sits on your fine lines after 6 hours, but it’s pretty much unnoticeable and you can easily fix it by dabbing gently over that spot so it blends and putting some mattifying powder on top. In the images below I haven’t touched up with mattifying powder, but if you do, your skin will look perfect all day long. It’s true that after those 6 hours there’s some shine, but only in the most problematic area (forehead and nose). Personally, I don’t think the shine is too serious, it’s more of a “healthy glow” (not like Fenty Beauty‘s foundation, for instance).
Conclussion
Esta base me está gustando mucho. Tiene sus defectos, pero son insignificantes comparados al resto de bases que he probado, incluyendo otras de alta gama. No creo que vaya a volver a comprarla de nuevo; no porque no me haya gustado, sino porque quiero probar tantas bases como pueda antes de aferrarme a una. También estoy esperando a que Sephora España traiga la Huda Beauty Faux Filter, ¡que seguramente será la próxima!

I’m really enjoying this foundation. It has its flaws, but they’re insignificant compared to the rest of foundations I’ve tried – including high end. I don’t think I’m going to re-purchase again; not because I didn’t like it, but because I want to try as many foundations as I can so I can get the full picture of the ones that I’ve liked, and stick to the best one. I’m also looking forward to Sephora Spain bringing the Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation, so that’s probably going to be my next one!
