Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here and you found my little corner on the Internet. This is Flaw Decay, and I want to take a moment to share a bit about what it is all about.
I’m a licensed Journalist with a passion for digital communication, and I’ve always loved creating content that connects with people.
When I started this blog in 2015, I was just like many others exploring beauty products with excitement and curiosity. I didn’t pay much attention to the products I was picking, as I was a bit ignorant about animal testing and other issues whithin the community. But in 2016, when I started learning more about the impact it has on both animals and people, I made a commitment to myself to only use and promote cruelty-free products.
Cruelty-Free Advocacy
Choosing to go cruelty-free was a game-changer for me and it led to learn even more about other aspects, including the problem with diversity in these spaces.
Since 2016, I’ve made it my mission to research and share only those products that are 100% cruelty-free. So whether you’re splurging on a luxury item or looking for something budget-friendly, I’ve got you covered with options that let you feel good about your choices.
Empowering Conscious Choices
At the end of the day, I believe that every buy we make is a chance to vote for the kind of world we want to live in.
This is why I want to continue empowering you with the knowledge and options you need to make informed, conscious choices. So I always try to support brands that prioritize ethics, sustainability, and inclusivity, and help drive the beauty industry toward a more compassionate and inclusive future!
Standing for Human Rights
As a journalist, I’ve always believed in digging deeper and asking the tough questions. That’s why I’m committed to supporting brands that are transparent about their practices—brands that treat their workers fairly, pay decent wages, and make sure safe working conditions. It’s important to me that the beauty products I recommend don’t just make you look good, but also do good by the people who make them.
Inclusivity
One of the things that drives me is the belief that beauty should be for everyone.
Growing up and learning from different bloggers and content creators, I learnt how often certain skin tones, genders, and identities were left out of the beauty conversation.
In this blog, even if I’m more fair-skin, I’ll always try to keep in mind everyone and give voice to brands that cater to all skin types, shades, and identities. I’m here to celebrate diversity and make sure that everyone feels seen and beautiful in their own skin.
Ethical Shopping
I know that navigating the world of ethical beauty can be a bit overwhelming. I also know how hard it is to find products that are worth it and that keep in mind people and budgets.
That’s why I’m dedicated to making it easier for others to find products that align with their values without breaking the bank. Whether you’re hunting for a high-end treat or a drugstore gem, my goal is to make ethical beauty accessible and straightforward for everyone.
