¡Buenos días a todos! Uno de nuestros mayores problemas a la hora de elegir bases de maquillaje es encontrar el tono perfecto. Ya sea porque la base tiene un rango de tonos muy limitado o porque la hemos comprado online (lo cual casi siempre acaba en fracaso), muchas veces nos equivocamos al escoger el tono perfecto. En el post de hoy, os hablaré de la mejor solución para este problema: los Transformer Drops de Catrice.
Hi everyone! One of our biggest problems when it comes to choosing the right foundation is to find the perfect shade right away. Maybe because of its somewhat limited range of shades or maybe because we purchased it online (and we all know its high failure rate), very often we pick shades that don’t match us perfectly. In today’s post, I’m going to be talking to you about the best solution for that problem: Catrice‘s Transformer Drops.

Esta gama de productos está destinada a la “transformación” de productos como bases. En la página oficial de la marca indican que “permite personalizar cualquier base de Catrice“, pero que también se pueden usar “para resaltar y contornear, o para agregar un color sutil a tu primer”.
Aunque señalan que son gotas, tienen una consistencia de gel, pero eso no afecta a la base que estemos modificando.
This range of products is meant for the “transformation” of products such as foundations. In the brand’s official website it’s pointed out that “it allows to customize any Catrice foundation”, but that it can also be used “to highlight and contour, or to add a subtle tint to your primer”.
Even though they’re called “drops”, they have a gel consistency, but it doesn’t affect the actual foundation that we’re modifying.
Resultados
En las imágenes de arriba podéis ver mejor la textura del producto y su efecto. En la segunda, de izquierda a derecha, tenemos la base normal, la base aclarada, y oscurecida. Evidentemente, se necesita mucho más producto para subir el tono de la base aún más, pero creo hace un buen trabajo.
In the images above you can see the texture of the finished product and its effect. In the second one, from left to right, we have the normal base, the same base lightened, and darkened. If we want to deepen up the shades, we’ll obviously need more product, but I still think that this product does a very good job overall.
Cómo hacerlo | How to do it
En una paleta de mezclar maquillaje, pongo más o menos la cantidad exacta que necesitaré para cubrir todo el rostro, y con una espátula de metal, mezclo ambos productos hasta alcanzar el tono deseado. ¡Es muy fácil!
In a makeup mixing palette, I put the exact amount of product that I’m going to be using (more or less), and with the spatula that came with the palette, I blend both products together until everything looks even and I’ve reached my tone. It’s so easy!
Como ya os expliqué en mi reseña de la base Pro.Matte de LA Girl (que podéis leer aquí), una de las bases con las que siempre he de utilizar las “gotas” oscurecedoras es ésta, y funcionan de maravilla:
As I explained in my review of LA Girl‘s Pro.Matte foundation (which you can read here), that one is one of the bases that I always have to use the darkening “drops” with, and they work perfectly together:
Al aplicar la base en el rostro, todas las que he probado mantienen el acabado y duración originales, y tampoco noto que se haga más pesada.
En cuanto a las gotas que hacen el maquillaje resistente al agua, no las he utilizado tanto como el resto, ni sabría decir si funcionan bien porque no las utilizo lo suficiente. Cuando voy a la piscina o a la playa, nunca llevo maquillaje, y en cuanto al sudor, no noto la diferencia.
When applying the foundation to the face, each and every one that I’ve tried has maintained the original finish and duration, and I haven’t noticed a difference in the density.
As for the drops that turn makeup waterproof, I have to admit that I haven’t used them as much as the rest, nor could I say if they really work well because I hardly ever use them. When I go to the pool or the beach, I never wear makeup, and regarding the sweat, I didn’t notice any differences.
¿Funcionan? | Do they work?
¡Sí! No pueden obrar milagros, pero sí subir o bajar el tono de las bases bastante (y ahorrarte el tener que comprar la misma en un tono diferente). El precio me parece muy bueno; por 4 euros tenemos un producto que nunca sobrará en nuestro cajón de belleza, y que además no está testado en animales ni contiene ingredientes procedientes de ellos. Lo recomiendo mucho.
Yes! They can’t work miracles, but they do what they say and they can save you from buying the same foundation in a different shade if you don’t get it right. I think that the price is very generous; for 8 dollars approximately, you get a product that you’ll probably reach for a lot, and that is also not tested on animals nor contains ingredients coming from them. I highly recommend it.
Es agradable ver que cada vez las bases vienen con rangos de tonos más extensos (sobre todo para personas con la piel más oscura, ya que muchísimas marcas parecen olvidarlas), pero creo que aún nos queda un largo camino. It’s nice to see that brands are coming up with wider shade ranges for foundations (especially for people with darker skintones, since many of them seem to just forget them), but I think we still have a long way to go.
